WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Rep. Jeff Denham supported a JOBS bill that, following bipartisan and bicameral approval, has been sent to the President’s desk for a signature.
Denham voted for this bill, H.R. 3606, the Jumpstart our Business Startups Act, twice in the past month, most recently today, after it was amended by the Senate. After many bills on the House JOBS agenda have been sent to the Senate and stalled, Rep. Denham considers the passage of H.R. 3606 a victory for all Americans looking for work, struggling to put food on the table and gas in the car. Denham said in a news release: “Since I have been in office, my House colleagues and I have passed pro-growth bills and we are focused on creating an environment for economic growth and making it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to grow and create jobs,” said Rep. Denham, whose district is suffering from higher than average gas prices and unemployment twice the national average, as well as crushing water shortages that hurt the farming community. “In order to turn the Valley economy around, we must reduce regulations on small businesses to promote growth and create jobs. We need to pass legislation that frees up businesses to lead and promote innovation and encourages the private sector to invest in the local economy and put people in the Central Valley back to work.”
