The production crew for the ABC series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" could make another trip to Fresno. A search has started to find another local family to be featured in the Sunday night television series.
The crew from "Extreme Makeover" was in Fresno a year ago to build a new home for Mary Ann Riojas and her family.
“We need families that have done everything right and are amazing people but have been put into a dire situation and need some help,” says supervising producer Rebecca Shumsky in a news release. “We are looking for the deserving people and inspiring families that America can relate to and a house that is in dire need.”
The deadline for nominations is Jan 24. If a local family is selected, the construction would be for an episode of the series to air between now and May.

Nominations may be submitted by a family or by a member of their community. To apply or nominate a family send an e-mail to CASTINGFRESNO@gmail.com. The e-mail should include:
- Names and ages of all members of the family in the house.
- What the family has done to deserve help.
- What is wrong with the house.
- Photos of the family and of the house.
- Special interests of the children.
- Telephone number and e-mail address to contact the family.
To be eligible, families must own their single-family home and be able to show producers how a makeover will make a huge difference in their lives.
The community’s response on the Riojas family house last year is part of the reason producers are interested in bringing the show back to Fresno. More than 3,800 local residents worked 106 hours on that home makeover.
