Abandon building catches fire again in Winton, fire officials say

An abandoned building in Winton that burned two years ago was up in flames once more on Wednesday night, officials at Merced County Cal Fire reported.

The building, located between Santa Fe Drive and Winton Way, was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived, Battalion Chief Justin Wight said. The fire was reported at 7:05 p.m. and was contained by 7:25 p.m.

There were no injuries and no significant losses in the fire, Wight said.

The cause remained under investigation Wednesday night.
