Livingston resident Monaco Pollock placed sixth at the 2011 Pokemon Trading Card Game United States championships in Indianapolis last weekend, earning an invitation to compete in the world championships in August.
The national championship games saw nearly 1,500 players from across the nation competing in three divisions - junior division (born in 2000 or later), senior division (born between 1996-1999) and the masters division (born in 1995 or earlier). To qualify for the invitation-only world championship in San Diego held August 12-14, players participated in qualifying tournaments throughout the season or achieved a high premier ranking.
