A 22-year-old man was struck by a car early Monday on Center Avenue in Los Banos, the Police Department reported.
The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was reported in stable condition Monday afternoon.
He was walking across the road, not in a crosswalk, near the Main Canal when he was struck by a white Scion driven by 61-year-old Los Banos resident Geraldine Sanchez, Acting Chief Ray Reyna said.
The pedestrian suffered head injuries and was airlifted to a Modesto-area hospital, Reyna said.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were believed to have been factors, and no citations were issued, police said.
The incident remained under investigation Monday afternoon.
