Yosemite National Park's Mariposa Grove Road will open for the season at 9 a.m. today, park officials said.
The road provides visitors access to the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees, the largest grove of Giant Sequoia in Yosemite National Park. The road is located near the park's south entrance on Highway 41.
Commercial services within Mariposa Grove and tram tours will begin later in the season. The park doesn't allow vehicles heavier than 6,000 pounds on the road, and visitors are urged to drive with caution because of ice and snow. The road may intermittently close because of weather conditions.
