The Mariposa County Library said it’s offering free tutoring for Mariposa County residents age 18 or older who are able to communicate in English.
Trained volunteer tutors work with learners on a one-to-one basis in the library or other public location. Learners work at their own pace to achieve goals they set for themselves. For example, if a learner wants to write a resume, help children with homework, learn to use a computer or pass a driver's test, instruction is directed toward achieving that goal, the library said in a news release.
All program materials are provided free to learners. Hours are flexible to fit with the learner's schedule. The program is provided with the Merced Library Read and Succeed adult literacy program.
For more information, call the Mariposa Library, (209) 966-2140 or stop by the library during regular hours of operation. Leave your name and phone number or email address, and the literacy coordinator will contact you.
