Yosemite National Park officials are asking for help in a search for a missing hiker.

George Penca, 30, was last seen Friday afternoon at the top of Upper Yosemite Fall. Park officials are asking to talk with anyone who may have seen Penca near Upper Yosemite Fall, the Upper Yosemite Fall Trail or any trail between Yosemite Valley and Tioga Road.

Penca is described as 5-foot-10, 220 pounds, with dark hair, blue eyes and a stocky build. He was last seen wearing gray sweat pants with a white stripe, a black T-shirt that says "D & B" or a black tank top, and gray/blue running shoes. He was carrying a blue cloth bag.

Anyone with information may call (209) 372-0311 or (209) 372-0252. If you have trouble getting through on those lines, call (209) 379-1992.

Hikers who were in the area but didn't see Penca are encouraged by Yosemite officials to call the office so that search and rescue workers can help focus the search area.
