Interactive: Yosemite vehicle traffic hits record levels

Every month in the summer, multitudes visit Yosemite National Park. Most of them drive their cars. That's created more and more traffic jams.

To maintain serenity and sanity, park officials have been trying for years to do something about vehicle traffic. Yosemite now offers several options for taking mass transit into and around the park. But still traffic grows. Last month, 211,000 vehicles passed through the three most popular entrances into Yosemite. That's almost 50 percent higher than the traffic seen during the same month a decade ago.

Here's the traffic advisory in effect for Yosemite.
