The Cal Fire Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit will continue to have resources assigned to the Branch Fire incident for however long they’re needed. All fires are 100 percent contained.
Fires sparked by lightning may take days to ignite. Fire crews will remain on duty. To date no structures have been damaged or destroyed, Cal Fire said in a news release, and all roads are open.
Scattered dry lightning strikes are possible through out the Sierra Nevada mountain range Monday.
Cooperating agencies include Cal Fire, Mariposa County Fire Department, Madera County Fire Department, Mariposa Public Utilities District, Mariposa County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol.
