Three armed men rob victim in Winton Sunday night

The Merced Sheriff's Office said three armed men robbed a victim outside a bar in Winton on Sunday.

At 10:30 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said it got a call of an armed robbery with three men wearing black "hoodies" outside a bar in the 6000 block of Winton Way.

When deputies arrived, they find the 61-year-old male victim had parked to go into the bar when he was approached by two men wearing dark colored-clothing. He told deputies they were pointing a long-barreled gun toward the ground, demanding all the money he had on him.

The third suspect stayed in the driver's seat, according to the victim. When the other two took the small amount of cash he had, they all left in a green van. The suspects appeared to have parked on Gerard Avenue and waited for someone to park their vehicle and go into the bar. It doesn't sound if the victim was targeted, but was more a victim of chance, according to Deputy Tom MacKenzie.

The suspects are described being in their middle to late teens, Latino, clean-shaven wearing black "hoodies" driving a green van. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Merced Sheriff's Detective's Division at (209) 385-7472.
