Ryan Tiscareno hit a two-run homer to left-center field in the third inning and added an RBI single during a four-run sixth that saw Central Catholic High pull away from Escalon en route to an 8-2 victory Monday at Tony Zupo Field in Lodi.
The win gave the Raiders a sweep of their Sac-Joaquin Section Division V baseball series with the Cougars (21-8) and sends them to the championship game at 6 p.m. next Monday. Central Catholic will play either Hughson or Calaveras. That series resumes at 4 p.m. today with Hughson leading 1-0.
Central scored two runs in the top of the first, then took a 4-0 lead on Tiscareno's homer.
"We kind of dug a hole for ourselves with a couple errors in the first and couldn't get out of it," Escalon coach Greg Largent said.
