Wrestlers to Watch

T.J. Belton, Sr., Central Catholic: Placed fourth in the state at 152 pounds last year. Is poised for another big season.

Fabian Garcia, Soph., Turlock: 112-pounder was Turlock's first-ever freshman state medalist was seventh in the state, eighth in the Sac-Joaquin Section.

Maverick Ille, Sr., Central Catholic: 125-pounder won 38 matches last year and was one victory from a state medal.

Shane Tate, Soph., Oakdale: Placed second in the section at 112 pounds last year. Tate, Central Catholic's Andrew Perez and Turlock's Garcia may all be the same weight.

Oliver Congleton, Sr., Beyer: One of the Modesto Metro Conference's top wrestlers is a gritty middleweight.

Andrew Perez, Soph., Central Catholic: Wrestled in the same weight class (103 pounds) as his brother Vincent, who wrestled for Pitman, last year.

Chris Urquizo, Sr., Merced: Was a state finalist as a sophomore, then wasn't eligible for his junior year. He figures to be back, and will be a middle to upperweight force.
