Bee's 2008 Boys All-District Cross Country Team

Runner of the Year: Roberto Rosas, Davis junior

  • CHRIS IZQUIERDO, Davis senior

Part of Davis' state-qualifying boys team, Izquierdo placed 116th in the state after taking fifth at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Masters race at Folsom. Was also fifth at the sub-section Division I race.

  • NATHAN JACKSON, Big Valley Christian sophomore
  • Raced to victories in the Sac-Joaquin Sub-Section and Section Masters Division V races. Won by 12 seconds in the sub-section race and margin of victory was 36 seconds in the section finals. Was 28th in the state.

  • JOHN GLICK, Sonora senior
  • Held off El Camino's Evan Bornstein to win the Sac-Joaquin Sub-Section Division III race. Took second to VOL rival Roberto Alvarez in the section Division III championship. Placed 78th in the state, with the same time as Ceres' Alejandro Garcia.

  • ALEJANDRO GARCIA, Ceres junior
  • Found himself next to -- or ahead of -- fellow all-District runner John Glick of Sonora for most of their races. Was third in the sub-section race, fifth in the section Division III championship and was 77th in the state race.

  • JUAN SEGUNDO, Livingston senior
  • Western Athletic Conference individual champion ran against schools from larger leagues in Division III. Was sixth in the sub-section race, fourth -- ahead of Ceres' Garcia -- in the section Masters championship and was 59th in the state.

  • MATT AIROLA, Bret Harte junior
  • Mother Lode League individual champion will be a state challenger next year. Was the Sac-Joaquin sub-section Division IV champion and was the runner-up in the section Masters race. Placed 12th in the CIF State Championships.
