Modesto Christian too much for RC

SALIDA -- Brandi Henton had 21 points to lead Modesto Christian over Ripon Christian 78-18 on Monday night.

The Crusaders, who outscored the Knights 30-4 in the second quarter, improved to 5-0 in the Trans-Valley League and 15-7 overall.

The Knights fell to 2-3, 8-10.

RIPON 40, ESCALON 32, at Ripon -- The Indians (9-12, 3-2 TVL) dominated the glass against the Cougars (5-14, 1-4 TVL), with Kendra Contente (10 rebounds), Skye Dominguez (11 rebounds) and Lauren Fedderson (10 rebounds) leading the charge.

ORESTIMBA 45, CENTRAL CATHOLIC 40, at Newman -- Sarah Spaulding had 16 points and seven blocks as the Warriors (10-9, 3-8 Western Athletic Conference) used some tough defense to get past the Raiders (7-15, 5-6). After trailing 12-5 after the first quarter, Orestimba outscored Central 29-16 in the middle quarters.

HILMAR 41, PATTERSON 34, at Hilmar -- Jessica Paine scored seven of her 12 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Yellowjackets (18-3, 8-2 WAC) past the Tigers (11-11, 7-3). She hit a 3-pointer with three minutes left to put Hilmar up six points, and Lindsey Mendes (11 points) hit two free throws at the end to seal it.
