MEMORIAL DAY DISPLAY

FILL THE BOOT CAMPAIGN

Info: As a benefit for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, firefighters with Modesto International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1289 will be at the intersections and ask motorists to drop a donation into the boot. YOUTH FOR CHRIST CENTRAL VALLEY LADIES GOLF CLINIC

Where: McHenry Golf Center, 5150 McHenry Ave.

Info: The Ladies' Golf Challenge will provide teaching pros, with all levels of players welcome. Registration is at 8 a.m., the clinic begins at 8:30, brunch and door prizes at 10. BLUES JAM CONCERT TO BENEFIT PARENT RESOURCE CENTER

Info: Benefit concert with Zakiya Hooker, No Taboo, Oglee Moglee Blues Band, Marirose & the Gypsies. Tickets are $8. Proceeds benefit the Parent Resource Center after a fire destroyed most of the center. The Parent Resource Center is a child abuse prevention agency that offers emotional and educational support to pregnant teens and at-risk families with children younger than 5. COMMUNITY HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Info: The two-session training provides information on patient confidentiality, the hospice philosophy and topics related to the psychosocial aspects of death and dying.
