Event will honor fallen cyclists

Michael Richey, a cyclist killed Sept. 30 when he was struck by a car on Milnes Road east of Modesto, will be remembered as part of a worldwide event called the Ride of Silence.

A bicycle, painted white, will be displayed at 5:45 p.m. today at Milnes and Langworth roads, where Richey, 46, died while riding for exercise after work. He and his wife, Tari, had lived in Modesto for several years, raising their son and two daughters.

The memorials are dedicated to those injured or killed in cycling accidents. For more information about the Ride of Silence, go to http://rideofsilence.org.
