Roy Wasden will be the highest-paid city manager in Stanislaus County when he begins work in Turlock this summer if the City Council approves his contract tonight.
Wasden, Modesto's police chief, would earn $202,296 in base salary each year under his proposed agreement with Turlock. He also would be eligible for a $500 monthly car allowance and $100 a month for a cell phone or other technology.
Modesto City Manager Greg Nyhoff's base salary is $195,000.
As police chief, Wasden's salary was $165,131.
