Injuries in Oakland wreck claim 3-year-old

The 3-year-old critically injured in an Oakland car accident Monday was taken off life support Wednesday morning, his grandfather said.

Jessie Woodson never regained consciousness or breathed on his own after the car accident, said Modesto resident Bill Terra, the boy's grandfather.

The toddler died after he was taken off life support at Children's Hospital Oakland, Terra said.

The single-vehicle accident killed Jessie's identical twin, Jason, the twins' mother, 23-year-old Sara Terra, and their uncle, 20-year-old David Terra. The driver, Tiffany Reynolds, 26, is in stable condition, said California Highway Patrol spokesman Sam Morgan.

Reynolds was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, manslaughter, and driving on a suspended license, Morgan said. Sara and David Terra were the adopted children of Bill and Louise Terra. They will be buried in Modesto, as will the twins.

A rosary is scheduled at 3 p.m. Sunday at Franklin & Downs McHenry Chapel, and a Mass is planned at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Oakdale Road.
