Motorcyclist hurt in Modesto accident near Raley's

A Modesto man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday, police said. Police did not release the man's name.

The accident happened about 11:48 a.m. as the motorcycle, a 1998 Honda Valkyrie, was heading north on Tully Road near Standiford Road. Police said a Honda Civic pulled out of the Raley's shopping center and hit the motorcycle.

According to witnesses, the motorcyclist was not at fault, said police Detective Darren Ruskamp.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police say drugs and alcohol weren't a factor in the accident. No arrests were made, Ruskamp said.
