Livingston man killed on Highway 99

A Livingston man was killed in a solo car crash early Monday after his car left Highway 99, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The victim was identified as Carlos Aguilar, 36.

The incident was reported at 3:45 a.m. near Bradbury Road. The car, a 1993 Acura Integra, drifted off the road onto the dirt shoulder, west of the southbound lanes, according to Shane Ferriera, CHP spokesman.

The car hit a wooden signpost and a barbed wire fence and came to a rest on a dirt berm. The vehicle then caught fire, Ferriera said. Aguilar was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the car.

The cause of the crash is unknown, Ferriera said.
