Modesto City Schools trustees did not have enough time in their hourlong closed session Monday to discuss appointing principals to Bret Harte Elementary School or Davis and Modesto high schools. Nor did trustees review annual evaluations for Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources Chris Flesuras or curriculum Associate Superintendents Daisy Lee, Pat Portwood and Craig Rydquist.
Also at Monday's meeting, several members from the Wilson and Bret Harte elementary school communities spoke during public comment about their concerns regarding moving their principals. Most spoke in favor of Wilson Principal Shirley Herrera.
Those speaking about Bret Harte urged trustees to appoint a bilingual principal who could understand the makeup of the south Modesto school's student and parent population.
