A Modesto man who was caught with a gun while on probation in March 2008, then caught behind the wheel of a stolen car in Modesto in August, was sentenced to two years in prison, according to a statement from the Stanislaus County district attorney's office.
Authorities said they found writings that suggest that Santiago Flores Ramirez, 21, is involved with a Sureño gang, and two men with gang tattoos were passengers in a stolen Honda Accord when Ramirez was arrested.
Ramirez, who was on probation for receiving stolen property, pleaded no contest to auto theft, participating in a criminal street gang and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
