Nobody injured in morning Knights Ferry blaze

A workshop next to a home in Knights Ferry suffered damage Saturday morning after a fire roared through, but nobody was injured in the blaze.

Homeowner Melanie Ali said the fire started accidentally when someone in the shop, which is used for their business, was processing Eucalyptus wood using a heating device. The workshop, in the 15000 block of Orange Blossom Road, is where they cut and preserve California Oak, and make wreaths.

Oakdale, Oakdale Rural and Cal Fire responded to the fire, which was first reported at 8:30 a.m.
