Though the filing period for several Stanislaus County school board races closed Friday, other deadlines were extended through Wednesday. The extension happens when an incumbent does not run for re-election.
For the Nov. 3 election, most school boards have contested races, with several showing strong competition, such as Newman-Crows Landing Unified, Gratton, Modesto City Schools and Denair Unified school districts.
Here's a final list of candidates running for seats that had deadlines extended through Wednesday, according to the county clerk's office. Election officials will verify the paperwork of some candidates today.
