 1  KISS Tribute

The Original KISS Army tribute band gives the authentic KISS experience as it was in the late 1970s. Concerts include all the smoking, fire-breathing, blood-spitting action fans remember. Jim Seda is Gene Simmons, Mike Sivo is Peter Criss, Gary Stevens is Paul Stanley and Val Popovic is Ace Frehley.

 2  '70s hitmakers

Pablo Cruise brings its soft-rock 1970s sound to Black Oak Casino. The group's hits include "Watcha Gonna Do When She Says Goodbye" and "Love Will Find A Way." During its heyday, the band appeared on TV shows including Dick Clark's "American Bandstand" and "The Merv Griffin Show." It was also the first rock band to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.

 3  Daddies pop in

The Cherry Poppin' Daddies return to Modesto two years after they played the Modesto Art & Wine Festival. Formed in Eugene, Ore., the swing group is best known for its 1997 big band hit, "Zoot Suit Riot." The band is now promoting its Latin-flavored album "Susquehanna."

 4  State Fair

David Cook, winner of season seven of "American Idol," pulls into Cal Expo tonight, kicking off this year's entertainment lineup for the California State Fair. Rapper MC Hammer, classic-rock band Three Dog Night and country crooner Blake Shelton also are among the acts at this year's state expo. This year's fair theme is "Weird, Wild & Wacky."

 5  Billie Holiday story

Playhouse Merced opens its 2009-10 season with Lanie Robertson's "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill" about the jazz singer Billie Holiday (1915-1959). The show stars Michelle Allison and will feature such songs as "Foolin' Myself," "Crazy He Calls Me" and "God Bless the Child."
