At its meeting Monday night, the Modesto City Schools Board of Education also will:
Consider, in closed session, how to fill the chief business official position left vacant by the buyout of Deputy Superintendent Debbe Bailey's contract a few weeks ago.
Hear a report on the state budget and its effects on the district. Officials are looking at a decrease in state funding of $8 million for the 2009-10 school year.
Consider approving protocol for visits to schools. Trustee Steve Collins wondered four months ago if trustees could develop a list of ways to visit campuses, instead of showing up unannounced and disrupting school. According to the draft policy, visits should be scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays, if possible, and the superintendent, respective associated superintendent, and other trustees should be notified of the trip.
