In other action, the Turlock City Council on Tuesday unanimously voted to:
Allow the Superior Court of California to place a kiosk in the Turlock Police Department. The Turlock branch of Stanislaus County Superior Court was closed because of budget cuts.
Buy computer servers for $129,000
Amend the municipal code regarding the regulation of uniforms and vehicles for private security firms to ensure they’re easily distinguished from those of sworn officers. The item will come back for final adoption next month.
Authorized the refund of $1,402 for contributions to the city’s Ring of Arts program, designed to support cultural activities. Because of budget cuts and a reduction in staffing, the Arts Commission suspended the program.
Allocated $10,000 for a Sunnyside Up festival in April that will include 24 giant eggs placed around the city and decorated by local artists. Festival organizers and the Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association promised to repay the money in full within three years.
Council members also scheduled a special meeting of the Redevelopment Agency on Oct. 6 to discuss housing projects.
