Police are looking for a man who robbed a bank about noon today at Century Center in east Modesto.
No injuries were reported.
The robbery occurred at Chase Bank at 2401 East Orangeburg Avenue just south of Briggsmore Avenue.
Modesto police detectives believe the robber walked into the bank and approached one of the tellers. The robber indicated he had a gun and made demands for money, said Sgt. Brian Findlen, a police spokesman. He said the robber never brandished a gun, and no shots were fired.
The robber then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running south on Oakdale Road, Findlen said. Officers searched the area but did not find the robber.
Police described the robber as a white man in his late 30s to early 40s, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. The robber had brown hair in a 5-inch ponytail, facial hair with a mustache and very yellow and jagged teeth.
Police further described the robber as having a “dirty appearance,” and he was wearing a Raiders jacket, a green T-shirt with a white circular logo on the front, dirty blue jeans and sneakers.
