Name: Karl Johnson
Synopsis: Officers were called to the 2900 block of Lincoln Oak Drive, just south of Ustach Middle School, at 4:48 a.m. on Aug. 30. When they arrived, they found Johnson, who had been shot. He was taken to a Modesto hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have released little information about the case, citing an ongoing investigation. They have not said whether a murder weapon was found, nor have they commented on the suspects' relationship with Johnson. But a gun enhancement added to the criminal complaint identified one of the defendants as firing a weapon to cause Johnson's death.
Suspect: Authorities arrested Johnson's wife, Carol Laverne Harris of Berkeley, on suspicion of murder and conspiracy; Desamona Crowder of Fresno on suspicion of murder and conspiracy; George Marvin Willoughby Jr. of Oakland on suspicion of murder and conspiracy; Alisia Shantay Brown of Oakland, on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony; Deleon Abdul Jabbar Hosley of Berkeley on suspicion of conspiracy and violating parole; and Dasheme Kareme Hosley of Berkeley on suspicion of murder.
