Gov. Schwarzenegger on Thursday appointed Seth R. Hoyt Jr. to a judgeship in San Joaquin County Superior Court.
Hoyt, 39, of Ione has been a court commissioner for the San Joaquin County Superior Court since 2008. Previously, he was a deputy district attorney for the San Joaquin County district attorney's office from 1997 to 2008.
Hoyt earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University. He will fill the vacancy created by the disability retirement of Judge Cinda Sanchez Fox.
Hoyt is a Republican. His salary will be $178,789.
