MERCED — A free workshop about small-business loans being made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 will be offered Feb. 23 in Merced by the Small Business Administration.
Specifics will be offered about SBA loan programs, from small loans for home-based businesses to multimillion-dollar real estate and manufacturing transactions. Anyone interested in applying for an SBA loan should attend.
The recovery act made certain financial enhancements to SBA lending programs.
The workshop will explain how the government's procurement process works. Attending could help local businesses compete for the federal government's business, including recovery act opportunities.
An overview of the SBA's contracting programs, including 8(a), HUBZone, opportunities for female- and veteran-owned businesses, and the SBA Surety Bond Program, will be presented.
The workshop will be from 9 a.m to noon Feb. 23 at the Holiday Inn Express, 151 S. Parsons Ave., Merced. Reservations are required because seating is limited. To reserve a spot, contact William Hori at 559-487-5791, ext. 0, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
