Modesto Junior College is offering 20 scholarships of $3,500 each to high school seniors planning to enroll in a full-time agricultural science program.
Scholarship applications are being accepted for the 2010-11 academic year until March 15.
Special attention will be given to under-represented populations and students interested in careers in agriculture.
Applications, as well as details regarding financial aid and academic requirements, are available at www.mjcag.com.
These Science, Technology, Engineering and Math scholarships, made possible through a grant from the National Science Foundation, are awarded for one full year, and are renewable for an additional $3,500 for a second year.
After successful completion of a two-year program, these STEM scholars will be eligible to apply for a transfer scholarship to continue studies toward an agricultural degree at a four-year college.
