What is it like to be in show business? What goes into producing a play? Nearly 50 students from Modesto-area schools found out during their visit Friday to the Gallo Center for the Arts as the theater prepared for “Annie’s” three-day run.
A touring production of the popular 1977 musical, the cast includes seven girls ages 8 to 14, plus two dogs that alternate as Annie's faithful pooch, Sandy. Little Orphan Annie and her friends live in Depression-era New York City until a wealthy tycoon comes into their lives.
Showings are 2 and 8 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $45-$89; $20 student and senior rush tickets available for tonight's performance. Call 338-2100. The Costa Family Foundation donated 200 tickets to “Annie,” to be given away through 13 community organizations that work with low-income families.
