Heavy lifting is under way at the Whitmore Avenue exit on Highway 99 in Ceres.
The interchange is in the midst of an expansion that will widen it to four lanes and improve highway access. The work has led to some overnight lane closures along the highway with traffic detoured through town.
The project, long a top priority for Ceres residents, should be finished by late this year or in early 2011.
