Erica Burdg was a licensed real estate agent working for American Security Financial in 2001 when she began helping a Newman couple search for a home.
The couple filed civil charges in 2005, claiming Burdg defrauded them of $350,000, then tried to evict them.
In 2008, Burdg was charged with felony forgery, grand theft and perjury. She did not work for PMZ Real Estate until 2007-08; her work there had nothing to do with the charges.
