The University of the Pacific in Stockton will sponsor a diabetes forum Wednesday that's free and open to the public.
Caroline Cox, author of "The Fight to Survive: A Young Girl, Diabetes, and the Discovery of Insulin," will be the keynote speaker at the annual Operation Diabetes Symposium sponsored by the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, one of nine schools making up the university.
Student pharmacists will be available to answer questions about diabetes.
The event, in Raymond Great Hall, will begin with a book signing at 5:30 p.m., lecture at 6 p.m., and information session and free diabetes screenings at 6:45 p.m.
