3,100 players, coaches, and parents attended Bel Passi Baseball's opening ceremonies Friday night at Chuck Hughes Stadium. The non-profit youth baseball program kicked off its 55th year in Modesto with fanfare. The ceremonies included a parade, discussions about sportsmanship and fundraising, and a seventh inning stretch. Mike Rokaitis received the Umpire of the Year award and Jake Callizo received Rooke of the Year. The Bel Passi baseball season starts tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
