Modesto police will be out looking for drunken drivers Saturday night at a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location. Officers also will be looking for drivers without valid licenses.
The checkpoint is funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
The project is an effort to reduce injuries and deaths in the Modesto area caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
"We would like to remind everyone to drink responsibly," said Modesto police Lt. Scott Blom in a news release.
