A Modesto man is in custody after he was pulled over by police on a traffic stop and drugs, a scale and burglary tools were found in the car he was driving, authorities said.
On Monday afternoon, Ripon Police officer Scott Lindsay noticed a car being driven recklessly in the area of Santos Avenue and Jack Tone Road, according to Ripon Police Lt. Ed Ormonde.
Lindsay pulled the car over and found about six grams of methamphetamine, a scale, baggies and burglary tools in the car.
The driver, Josh Pimentel, 23, of Modesto, was taken into custody.

The car was being rented by Pimentel’s girlfriend, so police called her to come pick it up, Ormonde said.
Ashley Holman, 18, of Modesto, arrived in Pimentel’s car, and police found that the car’s registration had expired and its temporary operating permit was stolen.
Holman was taken into custody.
The two, according to Ormonde, had been staying at a Manteca motel in the 1100 block of W. Yosemite Avenue. They were both taken back to their room, and Holman gave officers permission to search it.
There, officers discovered a stolen laptop and bullets from a 9 mm pistol.
Pimentel, who was on parole, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on several felony and misdemeanor charges. Holman was cited and released at the scene.
