Modesto man distributes sustenance for body, soul

Roger Emery has been distributing donated food to needy people in Modesto from the back of his minivan for the past two years. Fellow churchgoer Randy Woody has joined him for the past month.

Emery picks up pastries, bread, chips, pretzels and desserts from Delhi’s New Life International Church and Modesto charities.

He changes the locations of his stops from week to week and prays to “show hope and good out here in this world.” He says his purpose is to “give them food for the body, but the main reason is to give them food for the soul.’
