Pedestrian killed in Modesto was hit by two cars

California Highway Patrol officers continue to investigate the death of a 28-year-old pedestrian killed on McHenry Avenue early Monday.

Jeffrey Thomas of Modesto was struck by two vehicles in the 1400 block of McHenry, east of St. Francis Drive, at 5:23 a.m., according to officer Glendon Wright. Neither driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Wright said.

The Stanislaus County coroner's office lists the cause of death as multiple injuries to the head, chest, abdomen and extremities. Thomas' toxicology test results have not been made available.
