Construction of a bridge for pedestrians and bicyclists in Hilmar has finished, according to Merecd County. The bridge spans the Turlock Irrigation District canal next to the Hilmar School complex.
The bridge provides a safe link from local subdivisions to several Hilmar schools, including Hilmar Middle School, Hilmar High School, as well as the Hilmar Library and Hilmar Community Hall.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Wednesday at 3:30 pp.m. at the end of Maria Avenue.
The bridge was built using grant funds from Caltrans and Merced County's District 4 special project funds.
