WHERE: King-Kennedy Memorial Center, 601 Martin Luther King Drive

INFO: The Modesto/Stanislaus National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Modesto Police Department, Stanislaus County Behavioral Health Services, Stanislaus County district attorney's office and the National Alliance for Mental Illness will present a free community information program about working with the mentally ill. The purpose of this program is to inform the public about law enforcement's interactions with the mentally ill. DOCUMENTARY FILM

WHEN: Thursday, 7 p.m.

WHERE: Modesto Junior College, Forum 101, 435 College Ave.

INFO: Modesto Junior College's Civic Engagement Project will show the film "Food Inc.," which explores the food industry's effects on health and environment. Local farmers John Arnold and David Silveira will answer questions after the film. The event is free. For more information, call Jim Clarke at 575-6281.
