Deputies look for leads in Denair robbery

Stanislaus County sheriff's detectives were looking for leads in a home invasion robbery that occurred early Thursday in Denair.

About 6:20 a.m., deputies were called to a home in the 6000 block of North Gratton Avenue, where the robbery occurred, said deputy Andrew Winter, a sheriff's spokesman.

The victim, whom deputies said did not appear to be harmed, was home alone when three men wearing hooded sweatshirts forced their way into the house, Winter said. They held the victim inside the home while demanding money. It's not known how long the suspects were inside, Winter said.

The victim waited an hour before calling deputies because he feared they were still in the area.

All three eventually left with cash and the victim's 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe. The vehicle was found about three hours later in Stevinson.

Sheriff's officials ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Detective Darwin Hatfield at 525-7100 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636.
