Detectives arrested one man and were looking for another, both of whom were suspected of robbing a woman at gunpoint Saturday at her Turlock home, police said. The robbery occurred about 4:30 a.m. at the home in the 200 block of Rosewood Drive, just east of Lander Avenue and south of East Linwood Avenue. Turlock police Lt. Ron Reid said the woman awoke to noises in the house. She got up to investigate and was confronted by two men. Reid said one man pointed a handgun at the woman, while the other grabbed items. Reid said officers found a vehicle parked nearby with some of the stolen items inside. Discovery of the vehicle discovery led officers to a home in the 1000 block of English Avenue, several blocks northeast of the woman's home. Police served a search warrant and found one of the suspects, 18-year-old Robert Penaloza Jr., Reid said. Penaloza was arrested on suspicion of robbery. Police were still looking for the second man Saturday night. The suspect is described as a white or Latino man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 140 pounds. Turlock police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Detective Lee Medlin at 664-7327 or 668-5550, ext. 6627.
