Vote on an agreement with the Merced City School District for an interim shop supervisor and consultation to the transportation department. The California Highway Patrol gave Modesto's bus maintenance operations a failing grade in March.
Hold a public hearing to consider a petition to form the Modesto Virtual Academy, to use a Web-based curriculum.
Appoint as many as three board members to help draft a response to a civil grand jury report that found no actionable wrongdoing on the part of top district officials or the Board of Education. It focused on tension stemming from the transition from longtime Superintendent Jim Enochs to his successor, Arturo Flores.

Approve a guaranteed maximum price of $750,000 for a lease-leaseback agreement with Acme Construction Co. for improvements at various Head Start facilities.
Accept the retirement of Associate Superintendent Pat Portwood, who has worked in the district for nearly 23 years.
