Girls report flasher in Ripon

RIPON — Police are investigating reports by three girls of a man exposing himself to them on Sunday afternoon.

The first incident occurred about 1:45 p.m. near the pedestrian overcrossing on North Acacia Avenue. A girl reported she approached a vehicle and asked a man to use his phone. The man said he didn't have a phone but offered her a ride. She declined, and said the man exposed himself to her as she walked away.

Around the same time, Ripon police received a second report of a similar incident in the 200 block of North Wilma Avenue. Two girls reported they were walking when a man pulled to the side of the road, then exposed himself as they passed by.

The suspect is described as a Latino male, in his late 20s to early 30s, with short brown hair and an average to stocky build. He was wearing brown shorts and a polo-type shirt with white stripes. The vehicle is an older teal or green Honda Accord with a gray interior, and has a possible partial California license plate number of 5WL.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Detective Sgt. Steve Merchant at 599-0262.
