Modesto Garden Club's Spring Tour set for today

The Modesto Garden Club will hold its annual Spring Tour of Gardens and Outdoor Living today. The tour includes several stops, including the club's office at 622 14th St. Tour hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., participants must have their own transportation, and gardens may be visited in any order.

Stops include homes in the Fleur de Ville community and the Del Rio area. Light refreshments and entertainment will be at one home, and four homeowners will open their doors — as well as their gardens — to tour-takers.

Money raised from the tour goes to support the club's education programs and civic beautification projects.

The club pays for and plants the flowers used in the flower clock near Modesto Centre Plaza, the George Lucas Plaza garden, the courthouse Victims Garden and the Virginia Corridor Rose Garden. It also offers children's garden programs and horticultural scholarships for students.

Tickets for the tour are $20. Admission for children age 10 and under is $10. No strollers are allowed. Tickets can be purchased at the following locations:
