Five masked men broke into a Delhi house early Monday morning, demanding cash from the residents, according to the Merced County Sheriff's Department.
The armed men kicked in the door of the home in the 14000 block of South Avenue in Delhi and demanded, in Spanish, cash from the woman and teen boy who were home.
Two of the men stayed outside as lookouts as the other three searched the house, stealing a small amount of cash and jewelry.
The suspects left on foot. During the investigation, deputies said they found several fighting roosters behind the home.
